Custom Witches and Halloween Hats

We have 13 days until Halloween.  My family likes to dress up and we love to decorate the outside of our house.  The kids in the neighborhood look forward to trick or treating at my house and my neighbor and friend Tina Moore.  We must get busy this weekend and get everything up.  Tina and I have been working on Custom Witches Hats.  We made them last year for a party and thought this would be a great addition to your costumes or a hat festive to your outfit.  We are donating one to the Project Pink auction and 1 dozen cookies.  I know someone will enjoy them.  Check out our hats and if  you are interested in purchasing one let me know.  if you need a special order contact me ASAP and I can let you know if we can make it!  I hope you enjoy our Beautiful Hats!!!!

Targets, Roller Skates, Owls,Garage Sales and New Floors

It's been a busy week at my house. Real Estate is still strong and keeping me working.  We are having new floors installed downstairs.  Wow, I didn't know how much dust comes from taking up tile even when they tape it off with plastic.  I guess the whole house will get a good cleaning when it's all done.  And to top it off our subdivision is having a garage sale and we are participating. My boys are really only interested in their video games, itouches, legos and matchbox cars.  So many good toys are going out.  Sadly some are still in their package.  This week I've also had some late night craft time to bake more cookies.  It's a great creative outlet for me.  I hope you like the pictures. If you didn't know already OWL's are the "in" thing from decorating your home to baking.  So I decided to make a sample (really a test).  I actually used those candy eyes that you can buy.  First time I've used them.

Check out how one of my customers displayed the cookies I made for her son's football party. So cute!  Thanks Meagan!!!

Once the floors are complete and half the house is in the driveway on Saturday I will begin my Jalepeno Jelly and Cowboy Candy.  I can't wait.  My family is already asking when.......

 Answers to your questions
I also wanted to respond to a question I get regularly.  "How do you get your royal icing so smoothe?"  I use Meringue Powder from Wilton. You can get it at any craft store or even Walmart in on the Wilton isle. If you follow the directions all you need is powdered sugar, meringue powder and warm water.  You need to mix it on low for 7-10 minutes.  That does the trick.  You can also add more water for flooding or less for outlining. Meringue powder is the SECRET.  Best advice to get started......take a cake decorating class.  I took 2 classes years ago with my neighbor Lori.  I had so much fun.  If you have more questions, leave me a comment.

Right now I HATE this owl.....I can't figure out how to turn the picture.
Of course I didn't take a sideways picture so why is this happening?

Custom Decorated Iced Cookies

Hi Friends!  Welcome to my Sugar Shack of cookies, candies, cakes, pies and anything sweet. I've been making these cookies for years for family, friends and special occasions.  My inspiration has been my Mom.  We used to make Christmas iced decorated cookies every year.  It was a tradition and they were sweet and buttery.  She was always cooking and baking or at least that is what I remembered.  I have a full time job as a Realtor but in the evenings my creative talents take over.  This is the best time of the year for me.  Fall weather, parties, holidays and a great time to give back to others.

I've decided to share my talents with everyone that has asked and I am taking custom orders.  I have made just about everything.  If you have an idea, let me know.  I've attached only a handful of the 100's that I've made and will continue to add them as I make new ones.  You can call me 832/283-0178 or email me at shereepowell@hotmail.com.

Coming soon- Jalapeno Pepper Jelly to mix or on top of cream cheese, to use as a marinade or to spread on a sandwich. My Dad likes it on toast. In addition, Candied Jalapenos - grreat for sandwiches, mix in with cream cheese, top on hamburgers/hotdogs. You name it!
